2008, Hand-picked, wild&cultured yeast, 20% whole bunches, 22 months in French barriques, (25% new) fining egg white filtration none, minimal additions Close planted (1.5m x 1.5m) with a very fresh, sappy and pure set of red fruit aromas. Very bright, lively and gently minted raspberries and redcurrants. Light spiciness and toffee, too. The palate is smooth, supple and elegantly paced. The fruit has the plushness of whole berry fermentation. Very neat with plenty of flavor and soft, pillowy fleshy fruit.

James Halliday's wine tasting note
Hand-picked, crushed, destemmed, 1-tonne fermenters 24 days, matured in French barriques (30% new) for 18 months, 240 dozen made. A great example of a light to medium-bodied wine that has complexity coming out of its ears, the scene set by its clear, vivid crimson-purple colour, the aromas and mouthwatering flavours with more or less equal portions of sour and red cherries.
